WroughtsPrivacy Policy
The short version
Wroughts keeps your notes on your iPad. It has no account, no server of its own, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not send your writing anywhere.
What Wroughts stores
Wroughts stores what you make in it: note and category names, the strokes and shapes on each page, your paper and appearance choices, your three ink colours, pen width, where you have placed the floating controls, and the app's settings. Photos you insert and PDFs you import are copied into the app's own storage so that a note stays complete after the original moves or is deleted.
All of it is written to the app's private container on your device, protected by iOS file protection, and included in your device backups if you back your iPad up through iCloud Backup or a computer. Those backups are governed by Apple's terms and your own backup settings, not by Wroughts.
What Wroughts does not do
- It contains no advertising, tracking or analytics software of any kind, and no third-party SDKs.
- It has no account, no sign-in and no user identifier.
- It makes no network requests. Nothing about you, your device or your notes is transmitted to the developer or to anyone else.
- It does not read your other documents, your contacts, your location or your clipboard in the background.
iCloud
This release of Wroughts does not synchronise. Your notes stay on the iPad they were written on. If synchronisation is added in a future version it would use your own private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, never a developer-operated server, and this policy would be updated before that version was released.
Photos
Adding a photo works either way you prefer. The system photo picker needs no access to your library at all — iOS hands Wroughts only the single image you chose. If you separately grant photo access, Wroughts additionally shows your five most recent photos so you can insert one directly. Access is used for nothing else, and you can withdraw it at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Files you open, files you send
When you import a PDF or open a Wroughts file, that document is read and copied into the app. When you export a note as a PDF, iOS's share sheet sends it wherever you choose — Files, Mail, AirDrop, a printer — and what happens to it there is up to that destination. Copy and Cut place content on the iOS clipboard, which is shared with other apps you paste into.
Deleting
Deleting a note or a category in the library moves it to Trash inside Settings, where it stays until you act on it. Delete Selected in Trash removes those notes, their pages and any photos and PDFs only they were using, permanently and without a copy. Anything you have already exported or shared remains at its destination, and copies inside device backups persist until those backups are replaced or removed.
Children
Wroughts is a writing tool with no accounts, no messaging, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no data collection. It is not directed at children specifically, and it collects no personal information from users of any age.
Changes
If Wroughts's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes are released.
