A little room to focus
User manual
Set your boundaries, start a session, and get back to your work.
1. Choose your distractions
Open Zenolyth from the menu bar and select Profiles. Add a profile, then open it to add websites under Sites and installed apps under Apps. Use different profiles for different kinds of work.
2. Start a focus session
In Focus, select a profile and enter your duration. Set the break allowance before starting. Infinite creates an open-ended session; use a timed session when you want a fixed finish.
During a session, the menu-bar display can show the time. Turn this display on or off in Settings.
3. Understand breaks and commitments
A break temporarily pauses enforcement and spends your chosen allowance. Resume returns to focus, and an exhausted allowance resumes automatically. Breaks do not extend the original end time.
Lockdown prevents pausing and ending early. Strict mode prevents ordinary quitting during a committed session. Choose these options deliberately before you begin.
4. Repeat with a schedule
Open Schedule and add a name, profile, start time, end time, break allowance, and weekdays. Enable the schedule to let it activate in that window. A schedule crossing midnight belongs to the day it starts.
A manual session takes priority. Ending a scheduled session early skips that occurrence; the next occurrence can run normally. Schedule edits apply to future activations.
5. Allow browser control
Open a supported browser, then go to Settings → Browser helper in Zenolyth. Grant Automation access when macOS asks. If you previously denied access, change it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation.
Zenolyth checks the active tab in each window of Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera, and Vivaldi. A blocked tab redirects to the bundled focus page.
6. Review your progress
Insights shows recent focus time and blocking history. Your rules and history remain on your Mac. See the privacy policy for details.
7. Launch at login is your choice
Zenolyth does not register itself to launch at login on first launch. To enable it, keep the app in Applications and turn on Settings → Launch at login. Turn it off there or remove it in macOS System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions. Zenolyth does not re-register itself merely because an older saved preference was enabled.
8. Purchases and help
Open Settings → Zenolyth to see monthly, yearly, and lifetime options and Restore Purchases. Apple’s purchase sheet shows current pricing and trial eligibility. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple’s subscription settings. Buying lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing subscription.
Settings also includes Privacy Policy, Report a Bug, and this manual. Report a Bug opens a draft email to kircerta@gmail.com; nothing is sent automatically. For troubleshooting and data-removal instructions, visit Support.
